Quick Details
A place to know the past and enjoy the present
Sitting on the top of Cerro del Vigía and 75 meters above sea level, this building, known as “Observatorio”, was initially built by the people of Mazatlán as a military observation post, hence the name Cerro del Vigía. Due to its strategic location and complete dominance of the landscape, it served the city to protect it from the constant incursions of enemy ships, as well as ships dedicated to piracy. In 1873 he joined meteorological and seismological work, being one of the two most important in the country at the time of Porfirio Díaz.
Take a step into history on a funicular ride. Admire the greatness of the port from the top of the Cerro del Vigia where you will live a trip to the past inside one of the oldest buildings in the city, where at the same time you will share the pleasure of knowing traditions in the mezcal process and being part of nature participating in the conservation of rescued birds in a space of care and education. Live it up and create a unique memory.
